Independence of Justice

There have been allegations that the judiciary is not entirely independent in Ukraine. Judges have been penalised for independent decision-making, and there is evidence that the Government interference in judicial decisions.

Equal treatment is stipulated by law, but its application is often imperfect. Foreign nationals cannot expect an impartial trial from the country's judicial system.
